Known for its rich biodiversity and breathtaking landscapes, it is a home for numerous species of animals, including over 270 bird species such as the elegant heron, pelicans, vibrant kingfishers, and cormorants. The unique ecosystem supports countless insects, contributing to the vibrancy of life in this pristine area. The region is also rich in history and has been significant for trade and transportation, serving as a route for various civilisations, including the Romans and the Ottomans.
